Late Lady Hannah Dadae arrives

The body of Late Lady Hannah Dadae, wife of the Governor-General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae, arrived in Port Moresby from Brisbane, Australia on Friday, and was received by Deputy Prime Minister, Charles Abel.

The late Lady Dadae was accompanied by the Governor General and their two children who spent the last few days with Lady Dadae in Brisbane till her passing on Tuesday 4th December 2018.

They were received by the Deputy Prime Minister  Charles Abel at Jackson’s International airport.

Pastors of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Port Moresby were pallbearers and carried the casket of the late Lady Dadae to the ceremonial area – a fitting touch to Lady Dadae who was a devoted member of the Church.

Reverend Gundu Kagl presided over the brief religious ceremony of song and prayer before the casket of the late Lady Dadae was taken to the Funeral Home at Erima and then on to Government House.

In a brief ceremony at the airport, the deputy Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the Governor General and his family and also conveyed condolences from Prime Minister Peter O’Neil.

At Government House, staff and their families of the Government House lined the entrance to welcome Lady Hannah for the last time and pay their respects. Among them were acting Consul General Mr. Jimmy Ovia, who accompanied the Governor General and the Late Lady Dadae from Brisbane.

The funeral service of the late Lady Dadae will be held at Marimari Lutheran Church at 5-Mile at 10 am, on Monday 10th December 2018.

On Tuesday 11th December, the body of the late Lady Dadae will be flown to Lae accompanied by the Governor General Grand and their children.

On Wednesday 12th December, a funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lae, at 10 am and thereafter, the body of the late Lady Hannah Dadae will be laid to rest at the Lae cemetery.
