Mineral Resources Authority Announce Nathan Mosusu as Acting Managing Director

An acting appointment has been made for the head of the country’s mining industry regulator.

Mining Minister, Johnson Tuke, today announced the appointment of Nathan Mosusu as Acting Managing Director for the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA), following the recent departure of Philip Samar.

According to the Minister, the new acting head of MRA takes the helms at a time of great challenges for the mining industry, which remains a key economic revenue generator for the country.

Mining Minister Johnson Tuke, today called a media conference to announce the acting appointment for the position of Managing Director for Mineral Resources Authority.

Mr Mosusu takes over the MRA over the next three months, which have been described as challenging, especially with recent legislative changes affecting the financial status of MRA.

Whilst acknowledging these challenges, Mr Mosus has also outlined the MRA’s key priorities as regulator, with MOA reviews top on the agenda for Kainantu gold mine, as well as the Porgera project in Enga Province.
