Steamships Gives to Assist Earthquake Victims

Steamships Trading recently gave K50,000 to Salvation Army to help assist victims of the February earthquake in the Highlands.

The Steamships Board has committed K250,000 to earthquake relief, and are using this to support the activities of their partner agencies and organisations around the country.

In receiving the cheque from Steamships Managing Director, Peter Langslow, Salvation Army’s Territorial Commander, Colonel Kelvin Alley, said the money will be used to purchase medical supplies.

The Salvation Army has medical teams stationed at Komo and Paio Aid Post and Mananda Evangelical Church of PNG Aid Post, which are located further away from Komo, Beneria Aid Post, and the Hides Four area.

Basic medical attention is a critical need for everyone, including food and clothing for women and children.
