APEC Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, is pleased with how Papua New Guineans have managed and hosted the minor meetings leading up to the First Senior Officials Meetings.

Minister Tkatchenko said he is proud of the preparations and the setup of all facilities that were used in the last eight days of meeting in Port Moresby.

He made this remarks after visiting all four meeting venues yesterday. Yesterday marked eight days of minor meetings leading up to the First Senior Officials Meeting scheduled to commence on March 7th to the 9th.

So far over 50 meetings on different economic aspects were held between the 21 APEC member countries. These discussions range from Trade and Investments to Food Security and Emergency Preparedness. The meetings commenced on 24th February and end this Tuesday with a visit to the Eastern Highlands province.

The APEC Minister toured the four hotels where the meetings were held. He started at the Gateway Hotel where there were discussions on Food Security and Oceans and Fisheries. Stopped over at Lamana and Laguna and later addressed the Committee on Trade and Investment at Stanley Hotel.

While most of the discussions have concluded, other meetings will continue until March the 6th.
