PNG Netball Prepares for Local and International Gigs in 2018

2018 will see PNG Netball not only busy with preparations for international gigs, but local programs as well.

Federation President, Julienne Leka Maliaki, today spoke to EMTV Sports of what’s in store.

Another main focus for the federation this year is talent identification and development.

“Seeing the turnout here today at trials shows that there is a massive following out there and that is why talent development in PNG netball needs to be amplified,” Leka-Maliaki noted.

Coaches and managing officials will also be seeing incentives this year, as a step forward.

And later this year, there will be some ground work taking place to put together an Under 21 squad in preparation for the 2021 U21 World Cup in Suva, Fiji.

For now, attention is still on the Pepes trials as they prepare for the World Qualifiers in April.
