NCD Residents Commend Police for Special Opearations

Port Moresby residents have praised police for maintaining law and order since day one of the special operations.

They said the women and men in blue are supposed to have spent this special time with their families, but have sacrificed to for citizens to enjoy Christmas and now the New Year.

“It’s a special time for families but they are out here looking after neighbourhoods and communities,” a resident told our roving team.

It was the second night of the major New Year Special Operations.

We met with police at the Badili roadblock.

Police continued with their traffic checks and other alcohol-related incidents.

We caught up with motorist, Mikes Wanagi, who said police were doing a tremendous job at the road blocks, helping to stop nuisance to from intoxicated people.

” It’s a time to be responsible when consuming alcohol- the police are doing a fine job keeping the roads safe,” Wanagi tells us.

Security personnel, Thomas Mark, who has been residing in Port Moresby since 2007, said compared to previous years, 2017 was the most peaceful.

A drive to downtown Port Moresby, two other security personnel, were also busy manning their spots.

Since day one of the New Year special operations it was been peaceful throughout the capital city, Port Moresby.
