Gomuzuha ILG Want to Be Included

The Gomuzuha ILG group, a representation of the land and water resources of the Goroka water project site, want to be part of development.

Chairman Kupa Janis told EMTV News that it is important that all relevant stakeholders of the Goroka Water Project initiate moves to reach a mutual understanding.

The Gomuzuha ILG group has welcomed the National Government’s move to fix the ongoing water supply project of Goroka.

However, the chairman says under the private-public partnership, they must be represented and can be through any steering committee to be formed for the Goroka water supply project.

The continuous power outage has sparked criticisms.

And the Gomuzuha ILG want the hydropower plant construction at the old site at Komiufa to be considered as a component of the Goroka water projects.

In the meantime, Kupa wants all outstanding land and water royalties be addressed prior to the construction.
