Program to Mentor Men and Boys for Change and Development in Society

A new program will train and mentor men and boys in Papua New Guinea to become real fathers.

It’s called the ‘Father Heart International Program’ and will involve men in activities for change and development in society.

The program was launched by Cardinal Sir John Ribat.

‘Father Heart International Program’ is a behavioural change focused training, actively involving men to improve health and wellbeing, reduce gender inequality and address health problems like HIV and Aids.

Cardinal Ribat said it is now time that men and boys are not to be seen as part of the problem but as a solution to collectively address gender-based violence.

The ‘Father Heart International Program’ is of the Papua New Guinea Christian Leaders Alliance on HIV/Aids Secretariat that will be channelled through member church networks in the country to train and mentor men to become real fathers or SKULIM NA HELPIM MAN KAMAP PAPA TRU.

Cardinal Sir John Ribat said gender-based violence should be everyone’s business.

And measures like citizen’s arrest will help eradicate violence in communities.
