In partnership with FIFPro, the worldwide football players Union, FIFA recently announced a shortlist of 55 professional players vying for the 2016 FIFA FIFPro World11.
And there are 7 categories; the best Menโs and Womenโs player, with the best FIFA Menโs and Womenโs Coach. Along with the FIFA Puskรกs ย Award 2016, the FIFA Fan Award; and the FIFA Fair Play Award.
In contention for the top menโs and womenโs players include some of the worldโs top ranked defenders, strikers and midfielders.
Among them, are Argentineโs Lionel Messi, and Portugalโs Cristiano Ronaldino. Both of whom have had their fair share of Ballon Dโor and Player of the Year wins.
Votes for the nominees come from professional footballers from 75 countries.
The winners will be announced later tonight at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Zurich.
