Port Moresby 2016 Christmas Peaceful

Christmas celebrations in Port Moresby seemed quiet as of last night, compared to previous years.

EMTV crew patrolled the capital city on Saturday December 24.

No major incidents as police manned some of the roadblocks around the capital city.

Yesterday evening, church goers convened to church for the Christmas eve service.

Police presence in the road blocks also guaranteed the public safety checking every vehicle that passed through.

As of this morning, it was still peaceful.

Faithfuls of Saint Mary’s Catholic Cathedral this morning celebrated the Holy Eucharist of Christmas. They were reminded of the essence of Christmas.

Christmas is a family day that unites family.

Families at Bomana, like many areas in the city, gathered to share their meal, celebrating the joy of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, police will later provide a report of the Christmas operations.
