FIFA Local Organising Committee Happy with Telikom Partnership

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup local organising committee has extended its appreciation to National Tournament partner,Telikom PNG, for its assistance throughout the tournament.

Telikom PNG provided K1.2 million in technical assistance leading up to and also throughout the three-week tournament.

CEO for the Local Organizing Committee, Seamus Marten said, without the support of their partners, the tournament would not have been a success. This was done in a small news conference today at the Telikom headquarters in Port Moresby.

Jeffrey Bean, Telikom PNG’s Group General Manager-Engineering division said, the challenges posed by hosting a large international event had allowed the company to set their own standards higher as well.

Projects Manager, Winnie Andrias said, that because of its scale, Telikom had worked tirelessly to offer better services to its international clients. And due to its focus on women’s empowerment throughout the tournament, both Andrias and Bean were pleased that half of their graduate staff who were involved in the project, were women.

All three are adamant that after being in such a large scale project in the FIFA games, as well as 2015’s Pacific Games, that the company is now looking to raising its standards even more.
