2017 National Soccer League Semi Final Preview

PS United will face arch-rival Madang FC in Lae with the winner to play Lae City Dwellers who are on standby for the finals.

PS United has been competitive in their previous encounters with Madang FC.

However, these two sides have been tailing each other on the ladder throughout the season.

With both teams having a fair share of rivalry on the field, Madang had the upper-hand sitting on second spot behind defending champions, Lae City Dwellers, for most of the time.

Madang has won almost every encounter with PS United, leaving the Huawei sponsored-side frustrated coming so close on occasions but could only succumb to a defeat in the hands of Madang.

This time around PS United will be banking on the experience of international players in Donavan Murry to lead the charges and Richard Alois creating opportunities in the midfield area.

Madang on the other hand had been instrumental in their last outing with the core of the team not short of experience, veteran play-maker, Neil Nanz, returning to the fold has somewhat bolster the sides attacking prowess.

Meanwhile the departure of young defender, Felix Komolong, on a scholarship offer in the United States may have left a dent on Madang’s backline defence.

However PS United will have to cut down Madang’s talismanic player, Samuel Kini, from ball distribution and Stahl Gubag causing problems on the fly.

The match between PS United and Madang will be held in Lae this Wednesday with the winner to face defending champions Lae City Dwellers in the 2017 NSL Grand Final.
