2017 Milne Bay Provincial Day

It was a fusion of traditional colors, dances and a gathering of family and friends today at the Milne Bay Day celebrations in Port Moresby.

The day was organized by the Milne Bay Day Organizing Committee who was overwhelmed by the level of interest from participants in the Nation’s Capital and from Alotau.

The performances included those from the beautiful islands of love – Trobriand Islands, Misima Islands, Duau dancers, the fearsome Tawala and more.

Apart from upholding the Milne Bay spirit in the Nation’s Capital, Milne Bay Day also aims to unite Milne Bay families living scattered in and around the city.

The event also aims to give Milne Bay people a sense of pride through appreciating their identity by way of celebrating their traditional culture, food, dance, music, and friendship the Milne Bay way.
