By Patricia Keamo – EMTV News, Port Moresby

The initial duty-free store at Jackson’s International Airport is only accessible to travelers.

However, after two years of planning by the Prouds team, today (February 28, 2019) saw the opening of the first ever Prouds domestic shop at Waigani Central.

CPL Managing Director Mahesh Patel says recently there have been a lot of counterfeit products coming into the country, and with the opening of Prouds, people will have access to genuine products.

The newly opened Prouds shop within the Stop & Shop complex offers electronics, jewelry, and cosmetic products from world-renowned brands.

The shop has 40 employees, and they will be training more people to be familiar with the brands and products offered.

According to the Managing Director, they are looking to open more shops in Port Moresby in the near future.
