YWAM conducts affordable vision tests

Residents of Sabama were giventhe opportunity to gettheir eyes checked at a reasonable price.

 

Volunteers from ‘Youth With A Mission’ were atthe Kila Kila urban clinic wherethey carrlied vision tests and prescribed glasses.

Kila Kila Urban Clinic is located in Sabama Port Moresby – a humble clinic that has been servingthe community for over 20 years.

 

Volunteers from youth with a mission an inter-denominational non-profit Christian Missionary Organisation were stationed atthe clinic on Wednesday.

 

They’ve been carrying out eye tests, since Tuesday. At a fee of just K2.00, those who registered had a vision testoplus prescribed glasses.

 

Community Health Worker Ivan Vaii saysthe clinic gets up to 100 patients in one day. And although it functions smoothly it could do with an extension of building space.  

  

The YWAM team will be here till Friday doing vision tests.

 

There medical ship is currently anchored atthe main wharf in Down Town, Port Moresby.

 

YWAM has over 18,000 full time volunteers working from over 180 nations.
