Rural Roads Key to Development according to MP

by Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Usino Bundi district in Madang province is prioritising rural roads in order for other developments to be addressed.

MP Anthon Yagama says maintaining and improving current road networks is a must for the district where the bulk of the people live.

For the Usino Bundi District, the Pandambai-Yandra road is now a vital link for the people.

100,000 kina was presented to Kaia Works Limited recently for further upgrades and maintenance in the district.

As one of the most remote districts in Madang, the district administration believes better roads can link people and allow them to transport produce and other items to new markets.

Executive Officer to the MP, Augustine Koroma, says other developments will come about as rural roads are opened and maintained.

On top of improving its rural roads, the district wants to link further infrastructure to national roads in order to provide greater access to the nearby provinces of Simbu and Western Highlands.
