Surfing Association PNG has been invited to meet with the World Surfing League executives in Australia.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss plans for the staging of the Inaugural Surfing Association PNG-World Surf League surf tour which will be held in Madang Province.
Papua New Guinea has breath-taking shorelines and swells which are perfect for surfing and it is a matter of time before more Papua New Guineans jump on the surfing craze.
The PNG Surfing Association has come a long way over the last 29 years and to have the opportunity to have the surf tour championship in the country is a massive boost for the sport, according to President Andrew Abel.
The tour is also an opportunity to develop the sport of surfing as well as create an avenue for surf tourism throughout PNG.
