World Mental Health Day

10th October every year, marks the World Mental Health Day, and is observed in all United Nations member countries, including Papua New Guinea.

This year’s focus is on providing immediate support to people who experience psychological distress after surviving a crisis. This follows the increase in humanitarian emergencies which are linked to conflicts and natural disasters. Many of whom, are victims of sexual assault, violent crime or traumatic accidents.
