Wet wether in Madang and Morobe has caused flooding in several areas inthe two provinces.

While no major damage or deaths have been reported, villages have been inundated after several rivers broketheir banks.

Alongthe Lae-Madang highway, workmen are struggling to maintain new roadwork’s as heavy rains continue.

Older road sections are also collapsing.

It is expectedthe damage bill may rise ifthe rains continue.

The National Wether service has warned that rains will continue through to February.
