Fijian Tourism Expo is an annual event staged to showcase Fijian Tourism industry for international buyers who come to participate in the expo.
The expo creates pathways to connect and empower local business women, with opportunities to showcase their products to buyers to create business networks with other participating businesses abroad.
With the coming expo to be held in June, Westpac has come on board and confirmed its commitment to support Tourism Fiji financially to run the event. Westpac is the official sponsor for the event.
Permanent Secretary for Industry & Trade and Tourism, Shaheen Ali, received the cheque from Westpac Fiji’s senior officers in Nadi. Westpac Fiji General Manager, Adrian Hughes, said Westpac prides itself on being the ‘Bank of Choice for Women’.
Apart from the financial support it will provide, it has also given the exhibition booth some space to ‘Rise Beyond the Reef’, a community development focussed organisation, for women to promote their initiatives to international buyers and develop opportunities for their businesses.
Tourism Fiji Director of Events, Sally Cooper, said Westpac’s support speaks volumes of the commitment that Westpac has for women in business and gender equality’. Cooper added that the partnership Westpac has with Tourism Fiji is very important.
