West New Britain’s Compliance in Service Delivery

by Fabian Hakalits – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The West New Britain Provincial Government’s focus will now primarily turn to improving service delivery.

In an exclusive interview, Provincial Administrator Williamson Hosea told EMTV News that the processes and systems have been improved in compliance with government policies.

Hosea said some processes and systems were streamlined to improve cost of goods and service delivery on a performance based level.

These changes were made to replace indicators of the downfall that occurred within the West New Britain Provincial Government.

With political support, Hosea says the province is now heading in the right direction.

Training is a key component and requirement in the Public Service Management Act 2014, adopted by the provincial government as one of its main focus areas.

Currently, some public servants are undergoing studies with the hope to improve the public service machinery.

Morale and ethical principles are also newly introduced policies to assist public servants in their constitutional duties.
