By Colleen Barilae – EM TV, Lae

Water consumers in Lae will be experiencing water outage problems for the next two days.

Lae’s Water PNG Senior Manager, Vincent Raka, says some of their plant facilities will be undergoing maintenance work.

This is due to an increase in demand of water consumption, for the past year.

More than nine residential areas, various stakeholders and business houses within Lae City will be affected by the water outage.

Water PNG will be fixing one of its main water valve’s. The maintenance work on the main valve is aimed at meeting the growing demands of connected water users within the city.

As the scheduled time for the valve’s closure nears, consumers are concerned over water supply and usage, during the planned water outage.

While the outage will cause inconveniences for residents and business houses; Water PNG has advised its customers to store water for the next two days.

The main water valve will be turned off at 6pm on Saturday April 16, and will resume operation after 48 hours.
