Wabag Village Court Officials Rewarded

The persistence and effectiveness of village courts in dealing with law and order problems in Wabag, Enga Province have been rewarded.

Court officials can now expect more pay for their efforts.

Wabag MP, Robert Ganim saidthe increase has been accommodated under this District’s DSIP grant.

It was one of those rare public meetings were Mr Ganim detailed how and what projects are being under taken fromthe DSIP grants to Wabag electorate.

Over two thousand gthered in town to hear fromthe new MP –the teacher and former education advisor who defeated former deputy Prime Minister Sam Abal inthe last election.

Mr Ganim toldthe crowd this is a year old implementation and service delivery and he isthere to ensure both.

The district planning and district budget priority committee has decided to allocate three hundred thousand kina for the pay increase of Village Court Officials.

The timing ofthe allocation couldn’t be more relevant. There is now a national and international outcry ofthe law and order situation in Papua New Guinea

Wabag in Enga province was once regarded as an area of tribal conflicts. That has gradually changed fromthe provincial government decided to strenthenthe works ofthe village courts in 1996.

Now asthe member for Wabag continue a good thing going into law and order in his electorate, ther MP’sof Enga are encouraged to dothe same.
