Flights into Tokua airport in East New Beitain remain suspended until futher notice.
Air Niugini Kokopo staff reported thick volcanic dust overthe aerodrome, a risk that forcedthe suspension of flight bythe management on Tuesday.
The suspension comes into effect since Monday and will remain until futher notice.
A change in wind direction has blown ash over Tokua.
Air Niugini saysthe airspace over Tokua will be monitored on a daily basis and any decision to resume flights will depend onthe prevailing winds.
Passengers with tickets to travel to Rabaul are advised to revalidatethem.
