Former Police Commissioner Geoffrey Vaki has been sentenced to three years in prison, with hard labor.
The sentence was handed down at lunchtime today by the National Court.
Vaki’s sentencing follows a court order in 2014 which was issued by the National Court, ordering him to issue a warrant of arrest on Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, which he failed to comply with.
Mr Vaki was found guilty on two out of three counts of contempt of court last month.
