Universities vying for Vice Chancellor Cup

Five Universities inthe country are locked into a week-long Vice Chancellor Cup challenge.

The boys are geared up for the rugby tournament which sawthe host; University of Papua New Guineacame up with four teams vying for the cup.

The challenge began on Monday.

It’s a biannual event which saw all major universities inthe country come togther for a game of rugby league.

Players fromthe University of Natural Resource and Environment flew in yesterday.

Reigning champion UPNG School of Medicine and Health Science returnedthe cup and it is now up for grab.

UPNG SRC Vice president Nou Vada was vocal on both off and on field discipline and urgedthe visiting teams to become ambassadors for their schools.

Vice Chancellor Professor Albert Mellam sharedthe same sentiment and hoped this platform will forge good relationship among students’

Professor Mellam officially kicked offthe challenge.

Teams in pool A are UPNG Pythons, UOT Spartans, PAU 14 Mile Rebels, UNRE Vudal Cowboys, UPNG Open Campus Lions and in Pool Be UPNG Medics, UOT Commodos, UOG Nokondis, UPNG Beacks and UOT Belolo Pines.

Grand final play off will be on Friday.
