A new office for Ufeto coffee farmers inthe Eastern Highlands Province was opened intheir village recently bythe CoffeeIndustry Corporation.
The farmers are fromthe Apo, Angra, and Kange Cooperatives.
This was possible afterthe Cooperative management’s mover to decentralize it operations to all 81 cluster groups across Western Highlands, Jiwaka, Simbu andthe Eastern Highlands Province.
Cooperative Coordinator Brian Kuglame revealed thatthe cluster groups are given cash, coffee scales and cash books to implement coffee activities.
The Cooperatives will only provide overall management. This includes capacity building, scholarship, housing, school fee and ther incentive schemes.
11 cluster group lLeadersfrom Western Highlands, Jiwaka, Simbu and Eastern Highlands Provinces also graduated with bee farming.
