Vanuatu’s Tourism Industry Showing Positive Recovery Signs


Vanuatu tourism industry is showing greater recovering signs despite the country’s recovery from the destructions made by the Tropical Cyclone Pam.

The country’s economy is mostly based on agriculture, fisheries, tourism and other income generating sources. Among this, tourism is said to contribute 65 percent of the country’s GDP and brings a lot of benefit to the country and the people.

Over the last 12 months, the number of visitors visiting the island of Espiritu Santo has increased.

Described as beautiful with stunning white beaches, gorgeous natural blue swimming holes and a lot of small boutique resorts has attracted a lot of visitors.

The increase now indicates and shows greater signs of the country’s tourism industry and is expected to see a ten percent increase.

Jacquire Carson, the tourist rep said despite the damage, the increasing number of visitors is a positive sign to the country’s tourism industry and will boost the industry.
