Tok Piksa Episode – 5, 2014

In this episode:

Anyone, it seems, can import anything into the country…But there are rules to follow, and duties to pay.

Not just to land your imported cargo on PNG wharves, but also, to take collection of what you import.

PNG Customs Commissioner, Ray Paul, explains what importers need to be aware of, before importing.

He also explains the importance of adhering to global customs standards, and the significance of PNG complying to established customs rules.

With air, land and sea borders to monitor, PNG Customs continues to be the first, and sometimes, last line of defence for our country.

This is the first of a series of interviews with PNG Customs, and in coming months, we will learn more about the challenges, and developments in our customs industry.
