The township of Alotau in Milne Bay came alive on the weekend, with contributors of the largest savings & loan society in Papua New Guinea, TISA, celebrating the opening of their newest investment in the province – TISA Haus – their first major investment for TISA in the province since it commenced operations in the province in 2004.
TISA HAUS was opened by Deputy Prime Minister & Alotau MP, Charles Abel.
At present, there are over 3,000 active contributors to TISA in Milne Bay Province alone, with a combined savings of over K6 Million – and it is being viewed as a strategic growth area for TISA.
The development of TISA Haus comes at a cost of over K8 million, which has been credited as an indication of its commitment to helping to develop Alotau in the years ahead – a move which has been welcomed by the political leaders of Milne Bay.
This investment by TISA has been described as the catalyst for more economic growth in Milne Bay.
