New animal x-ray machine for the RSPCA in Port Moresby

“Purr happiness!” is one way to describe the announcement of the new x-ray machine by the RSPCA in Port Moresby. The new state of the art digital x-ray machine is valued at K200,000.

The equipment was obtained after many months of fundraising and donations, especially received from the business community, members and supporters.

The RSPCA’s committee had hosted two main fundraisers this year, 2014, to raise the money needed.
The first one, the RSPCA Trivia Night, was hosted in May and held at the Crowne Plaza. The second fundraiser, ‘Tribute to the Greats’ night, featured the amazing world-class performance from ‘Vogue Duo’ and was held in November at the Royal Papua Yacht Club.

Mark Petrakis, who represents a major sponsor ‘Fuji Xerox’, was described as being invaluable in researching what best suited the RSPCA’s needs and negotiating a great rate for them.

“The committee members and management of the RSPCA appreciates the continued support and overwhelming donations we have received from corporate organisations and individuals who have made this Christmas present possible” says the RSPCA.

The RSPCA owns and operates the RSPCA Veterinary Clinic, which is located on the corner of Waigani Drive and Kunai Street in Port Moresby (Telephone: 325 2363 / 7196 0436).
