The 52nd Morobe Agricultural Show has again attracted a huge number of people on its first day.
Tens of thousands of people came from all over Papua New Guineaincludingthe seven provinces ofthe highlands.
People fromthe seven Provinces ofthe Highlands- Madang andthe New GuineaIslands flocked in to see attractions and take part inthe rides.
Cowboys fromthe Markham plains andthe Ferris wheel are part of allthe attraction andthe much anticipated annual show.
Major sponsors Coca-Cola Amatil say that it has beentheir pleasure to host such an event for the 22 years. &ldquoIn terms ofthe brand, coca cola is all about having fun and this is whatthe show is all about,” said Coca-Cola Representttative John Nilkare.
ther major business houses were also out to aggressively selltheir products to tens of thousands of men and women including children, to help meet yearly sales targets.
It isn’t just about big companies… but also for simple Papua New Guinea who make money for their coffers and it comes in line withthe government’s vision to get Papua New Guineas venturing into SME’s.
A resident of Lae City Rachel Anderson says this is her second time to sell items withinthe show grounds- last year she was selling outsidethe fence.
“We sold items outsidethe show grounds last year, this year we made more money selling inside,” she said.
The show began to promote Agriculture. It brings in displays from Markham and ther parts ofthe Morobe Province.
