The Ranuguri United Church Women’s Congregation of Konedobu in the nation’s capital has celebrated its 40th anniversary of service.

This event coincides with the Easter celebration which signifies the resurrection of Christ, an important event in the Holy Eucharistic Calendar.

As part of the global Easter celebrations, this small church was eventful yesterday.

Ranuguri United Church was established at Konedobu in 1976 as part of the United Church Port Moresby circuit.

Ranuguri Church Women Representative, Marama Hitolo, representing all the mothers, thanked them for their support and encouraged them to work together in order to overcome challenges.

Out of the 37 Ranuguri Women’s Fellowship members who had gathered to celebrate the occasion, Feareka Rosemary Oa is the longest serving member.

Member for Moresby South, Justin Thatchenko, was there to witness this event.
