by Elijah Lavett – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

Papua New Guinea’s female tennis star, Violet Apisah, has wrapped up her Youth Commonwealth Games sojourn in Samoa picking up two bronze medals.

She picked up the first of these in the girl’s singles event, and followed it up with another bronze in the mixed doubles alongside partner, Matthew Stubbins.

Apisah and Stubbins renewed their partnership for the games, one which proved to be successful when they picked up a silver during the Pacific Games here in PNG in July.

Papua New Guinea have now secured a total of three medals in the Youth Commonwealth Games, with two bronze medals in tennis and one gold medal in boxing.
