Telikom PNG reduces internet price by 68%

TelikoPNG announced a sixty eight per cent reduction in its wholesale internet price. This is to make internet cheap and affordable to users inthe country.

The decision bythe new board follows numerous complaints by customers of high rates.

Chairman ofthe Telikom Beard Mahesh Patel announcedthe reduction of wholesale internet rates.

Telikom controlsthe internet gateway orthe bandwidth intothe country and its decision to reduce its rate by a massive sixty eight per cent will see it offering a range of bandwidths forInternet Service Providers who in turn will retail it to local customers.

Telikom invested two hundred million kina in this project overthe last six months to repair and expand its infrastructure.

The impact of this decision will be seen after April whenthe ISPs are formally advised ofthe changes and afterthey sign up for it.
