The 2014 Telikom National Soccer League is set to kick off this Saturday at the Bisini Soccer Grounds in Port Moresby.
A much-anticipated curtain raiser between Oro FC and Admiralty FC, will be followed by the match of the day between reigning kings Hekari United, and Eastern Stars.
It will be a local derby at Sir Ignatius Stadium in Lae, between Gigira Laitepo, Morobe FC, and Lae FC with Besta United on bye.
Pre-launch entertainment will be provided by various artists including ‘Quakes Band’, ‘Velocity Dance Crew’, Tavata Dance Group and the personality, Kasty, all courtesy of Telikom PNG. The event will commence at 9:00am.
Telikom National Soccer League Board Chairman, Isaac Lupari, on behalf of the TNSL board, apologized for the delays experienced in starting this year’s season but circumstances beyond their control left them with no alternative but to delay the commencement. Appropriate measures are now being put in place to ensure that a similar situation does not occur in the future.
