Team PNG Will Excel

By Lorraine Genia – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

High Performance Manager of the High Performance Division, Aaron Alsop, has every confidence in Team PNG, exceeding expectations at the 2015 Pacific Games.

Aaron said in the last 12 months he has seen a bulk of improvement come from the athletes, and a noticeable transformation since the 2013 Mini South Pacific Games in Wallis and Futuna.

The high performance division has played an impartial role in the readiness of athletes, for the 2015 Pacific Games.

Since the inception of the High Performance Training Centre, an initiative of the PNG Olympic Committee, the division has placed much of their focus on the high performance, strength and conditioning division of training, and the health and welfare of athletes.

Also stressed this, as one of the training centre’s key elements, on the athletes’ preparations.

“It’s wrong for us to assume that because they are training well, they are fit, and they are healthy, that they will perform.”

He said, the services the high performance division offers, are to compliment the current training programs in place.

Kassman assured preparations were on track, and team PNG is ready for July.
