Team PNG Focused

Team PNG Chef de Mission, Richard Kassman, is adamant that Papua New Guinea will produce positive results during the Pacific Games.

With 16 days remaining until the opening ceremony, Kassman believes that Team PNG will be able to use the home crowd to their advantage.

With a contingent of 500 athletes, Team PNG is easily one of the largest contingents to ever take part in the games.

For the past18 months, the Chef de Mission has been working tirelessly to ensure that every single member of the team, including its coaches and support staff, have are all been up to scratch.

Team bonding sessions, also an integral part of the build up.

When asked about the issues with overseas-based PNGs PNG athletes and their non-participation, Kassman had said that while unfortunate to lose high profile athletes such as Tahina Booth, they were able to gain other representatives.

The Chef de mission, also called on the nation to support Team PNG.

Kassman believes that this Particular squad of athletes are the best prepared, having had good support from the government, enabling travel opportunities overseas, and also with the assistance of the High Performance Training Centre. And with that preparation, Papua New Guinea, will have a lot more surprises up its sleeve than previously expected.
