Youths in Port Moresby representing the region of Momase in football gathered at Ela Beach yesterday for a training session in the lead up to their association competition that is due to take place next month at Bomana.
Vice Captain, Joshua Wesley, said training on the beach was something different the team needed to do, for strength and conditioning.
He added many of the boys in the team come from settlements around the city, and giving them the opportunity to be part of something will help reduce illegal activities, and also make the youths become better citizens in their communities.
The team is looking forward to their first competition, and they are adamant with the kind of training the team is going through, on unusual ground, the team will do well come competition time.
