Team Kumul Structure Revamped

ThPNG Rugby Football League is inthe process of reviewingthe Team Kumul structure and programs for the next four years.

PNGRFL Chairman, Sandis Tsaka, will be working in partnership withthe Government and corporate sponsors to improverthe standard of Rugby League in PNG throughthe introduction of elite development programs, and high performance initiatives.

 

The revamped Team Kumul andthe new programs are an innovative initiative ofthPNGRFL in partnership withthe governmentoand funded throughthe support of several major corporate sponsors.

 

This yearthe Team Kumuls program was targeted at preparingthPNG Kumuls to participate intheWorld Cup in England. 

 

The nePNGRL lLeadersip is determined to improverthe standard ofthe game and be competitive at international meetings.

 

This has resulted in all technical officials and management engaged and employed underthe old Team Kumuls program havingtheir contracts terminated.

 

This includesthe termination of Adrian Lam asthe Coach ofthPNG Kumuls.

 

Kumuls Coaching Director, Mal Meninga, is appointed asthe new Head Coach who will be in charge ofthe new Team Kumul programs for the next three years.

 

Meninga and his team surely may not need a wooden spoon for next season sincethe Beard has already tasked him to prepare a comprehensive structure, program and budget for its deliberation bythe end of January, 2014.

 

The new Team Kumul Program will give prominence to developing school boys programs, Coaching and Training Clinics, Conducting Talent Identification and High Performance Clinics for players and officials. While ther areas will also be looked at.
