Teachers Retreat

Teachers from the Cloudy Bay Local Level Government area were urged to change and improve their attitudes to be good role models for their students.

This was the key message during the teachers retreat at Moregaina Primary School in the Abau District of Central Province.

The retreat was a get together for teachers in the Cloudy Bay LLG area to reflect and evaluate their past performances, and look at ways to improve what they want to achieve this year.

Teachers from all the schools in the Cloudy Bay area, including Konepoti, yesterday gathered at Moregaina Primary School for their start of 2014 schooling year retreat.

The main message to the teachers was to improve their attitudes, and be good role models for their students; including their appearance and performance.

The President urged the Head teachers to use administrative funds wisely, and said they must provide reports to parents on how funds are used.

Central Education Advisor, Titus Hatagen encouraged the teacher to teach for the good of the student’s future, and not just to earn a living.

He said this year all primary schools in Central Province will be equipped with EQTV to help teachers and improve standards.

Central Province is currently ranked 11th in the country in primary education and this year the province will be looking to improve its ranking.
