Taurama Aquatic Centre to Be Tested

By Lorraine Genia – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

Following last week’s successful trial run of the Sir John Guise Stadium, the Games Organising Committee is eager to trial all operational activities again at the Taurama Indoor and Aquatic Complex.

The Boroko Swimming Club will have the honour of carryout out the trials of the remarkable Olympic size, 50 metre swimming pool, on Sunday from 9am onwards.

The test events will be free to the public. The GOC will exercise ticketing and security check systems at the gates to control the number of spectators entering the venue. This is to ensure the seating capacity of each venue is maintained, as well as ensuring safety for everyone.

The Taurama Aquatic Centre is located within the Korobosea suburb of Port Moresby.

While public parking at the Taurama Aquatic Centre is prohibited, the park and ride service will again be operating from the Murray Barracks field.

You can watch more behind-the-scene footage of the Taurama Aquatic Centre, captured on the Road to Port Moresby episode tonight at 7:30PM on EM TV.
