While PNG has experienced recent years of positive economic growth, suitable urban and rural housing still remain out of the reach of many. Spiraling costs coupled with inadequate land planning and widely deteriorating infrastructure has led to the undeveloped urban housing sector being unable to meet the rapidly growing demand for essential accommodation caused by rural migration and other factors. What is being done by the Government and the private sector to address this growing issue? Are we are heading toward a national housing crisis? What can we all do today, to prevent a burden on future generations?
