The court of disputed in Port Moresby found that bribes were paid duringthe elections to influencethe outcome.
South Fly electorate inthe Western province will go for by-elections following a successful election petition bythe runner up and former MP, Sali Subam.
His petition was based on eleven grounds of bribery. Seven grounds were dismissed bythe courts while only four were upheld and followed through.
However,the hearing stroke out two ther bribery cases and favorably ruled for the ther two declaringthe election of Deputy Speaker and South Fly MP Aide Ganasi void.
Petitioner Sali Subam thankedthe court system and everyone involved in ensuring justice prevailed.
He is now ready to contestthe by-elections.
Subam contested underthe Triumph Heritage Empowerment party banner and president for the Papua Region, Warusan Debage congratulated Mr Subam for his win.
Mr Subam’s petition was backed by four ther runner ups inthe 2012 election for South Fly Open seat.
Ousted Western Province Governor Dr Beb Danaya who is also fighting a bribery case inthe court of DisputedReturns called on his people not to involve in bribery acts in future.
This isthe fourth successful election petition so far.
The South Fly open seat is now vacant. ther seats vacant following successful election petition cases include Kairuku Hiri and Gumine open seats.
