University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Acting Chancellor, Dr. Nicholas Mann, has said that students from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences are returning to class.
In a telephone interview with EMTV News he said UPNG had received a letter from the Medical Faculty’s Student President, stating that students were willing to go back to class.
Students have been handed reaffirmation forms to determine if they will be continuing their studies at UPNG, or not.
Dr. Mann has said the form is a legal form handed to students in times of uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Medical Faculty SRC representatives told media yesterday the form was illegal, and students are advised not to sign.
Dr. Mann said students refusing to sign the form and to return to class would only cause hindrance to their education.
UPNG Council later this week will release the exact number of students who have already signed the reaffirmation form.
