The PNG High Performance Centre will be running a three-day Strength and Conditioning Community Coaching course, from 16th to 18th March for trainers.

The course targets community coaches to improve their performance level and ways to minimize risk of injury in community sports.

Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach, Hannah Ilave said strength and conditioning is a new concept for sport in PNG.

She said the course is also expected to help coaches come up with their own training exercises, and plan programs.

PNG High Performance sport also runs other sports development programs for communities and schools as well as programs for athlete pathway programs.

2017 will be a busy year for PNG High Performance Sports as they prepare to organise carry out programs both nationally and internationally.
