Steamships Shipping Agencies will be trading as Swire Shipping in January 2013.
Steamships Trading Company and China Navigation Company today announced the change of ownership.
China Navigation Company, currently trading as Swire Shipping, will take over the shipping agency effective January 1 next year.
With the robust growth experienced in the PNG market both parties believe that Swire Shipping will be able to deliver an improved focus on customer service through its own agency vehicles.
Steamships Shipping Agencies Country Manager Alex Pattison, in a media statement today, said there will be minimal disruption to shipping services.
Swire Shipping Agencies will trade from the same premises, employ the same staff, keep the same telephone numbers and continue to deliver the same services.
Pattison says the transition is a key step to continue to improve levels of service and customer satisfaction.
