State to appeal for Lawyers to visit Asylum Centre

The State will appeal a Court order permitting lawyers representingthe Opposition to visitthe asylum seekers processing facility in Manus Province.

Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Kerenga Kua confirmed yesterday, State lawyers have been tasked to filethe appeal application.

The Opposition Leader Belden Namah had successfully soughtthe visit right in court.

Bet Namah failed to stop more asylum seekers being sent tothe processing facility.
