In year 2013 Ok Tedi mine's trade apprentices will have hands-on experience in various fields of construction.
This will be done at Star Mountain Institute of Technology's new learning centre in the Western Province.
The building will offer 10 multipurpose learning spaces, staff and administration offices and the National Simulator Centre.
CEO Trevor Davison said in a newsletter that the institute aims to attract national and international partners.
