St Johns Ambulance opens its own Diabetics Clinics

Diabetic Clinics have been opened in several locations inthe National Capital to easethe burden of travel to major clinic by patients.

Today,the Gerehu Diabetic Clinic was opened by Chief Commissioner for St John’s Ambulance John Waingut.

The Gerehu diabetic clinic is located atthe Gerehu St John’s Hospital. A small ceremony was organized by staff to officially openthe clinic.

The establishment of diabetic clinics is an initiative ofthe national governmentoimplemented bythe National Capital District Health Services.

Director for Curative Health Service Dr Jerry Tanumei said it is intheir work plan to have one specialist doctor at main clinics in all electorates.

The service is a first of its kind as it brings specialist doctors tothe majority, to improver service delivery.

Commissioner Waingut openedthe clinic on behalf of Health Minister Michael Malabag.

ther diabetic clinics were opened at Badili, Pacific Adventist University and Six Mile. The Gerehu diabetic clinic will open next Wednesday July 03rd.

The clinics will offer services such as pre-screening and blood sugar checks

Allthe clinics will be open once a week. When such time a full staff is ready,they will open 5 days a week.
